I am a software developer. Where can I download an SDK for Ceedo Personal?

Ceedo does not generally offer any APIs or SDKs to software developers, as applications rarely need to be adapted for use on Ceedo. Most programs run on Ceedo without any significant modifications.

If you are a software developer, the easiest way for you to evaluate the capabilities of the Ceedo platform would be to try out installing your applications on Ceedo. To do this, install the Argo Add-on (available for 45-day trial period) on your Ceedo and use the wizard to install your program.

Ceedo's vision is to create a complete portable operating system on which you could install and run any programs you desire, and the Ceedo platform offers a robust and powerful environment for us to build on and enhance continuously.

At any stage of the evaluation process, please feel free to contact us through our ISV Contact Form, to learn more about the benefits of Ceedo's ISV Partner Program and to get assistance on any technical issues that may arise.

What is Ceedo Personal?

Ceedo Personal is an easy to use, powerful program that can be easily downloaded and installed on your removable drive, immediately providing you with a personal, portable working environment. Ceedo Personal is compact and takes only about 2 MB of space, so much room is left for you to install programs and carry your data on your drive (depending on your drive's capacity).

Use the Ceedo Personal Compact Bar to open the Ceedo Personal Easy-Access Menu, and gain immediate access to your entire computing identity from any computer you plug into. You can now install and run your favorite programs, browse the web with your personal settings and favorite links, work with your preferred email client to send and receive emails, and easily access your data - all from a single place.

When I click Eject, Ceedo seems to close but does not eject the removable drive. Why?

This problem is quite common with many high-speed USB flash drives and most often has nothing at all to do with Ceedo. However - to set our users' minds at ease - if Ceedo completes its exit procedure, and Windows displays a message box saying the drive could not be ejected, this means that Ceedo has already cleared all of your personal information from the host computer. Doing this is like selecting Exit from the Ceedo tray icon menu and not ejecting the drive. You should be able to eject the drive from the Safely Remove Hardware tray icon later.

How to create a system log for Ceedo issues on the customer's environment?

Please follow the next steps in order to create a log file with system documentation of your Ceedo problem. We will then use your log to investigate the source of the problem you’ve encountered within your environment.

1. Work on the host computer where the Ceedo problem exists; however do not connect the portable Ceedo drive yet.

2. The Microsoft utility “Process Monitor” is to be used for creating the system log.
Go to the following Microsoft web link:

From that page choose “Download Process Monitor” in order to download the utility to any folder on your host computer.

3. Unzip the downloaded “ProcessMonitor.zip”, read the EULA.txt first.
Then double click on Procmon.exe to run it (many lines will start to show up in the opened window).

4. From the menu press File->Capture Events, in order to stop the log;
Then Press Edit->Clear Display, to clear the log from the screen.
Press Filter->Filter, to get the “Process Monitor Filter” window.

5. Click on the upper-left button and choose “Process Name” from the drop-down list; leave the “is” button; right to it type ceedo.exe, then click on “Add” button.
Click on the upper-left button and choose “Process Name”; leave the “is” button; right to it type napplay.exe, then click on “Add” button.

Click on the upper-left button and choose “Process Name”; leave the “is” button; right to it type AutoDetect.exe, then click on “Add” button.

7. See that “ceedo.exe”, “napplay.exe”, “autorun.exe” and “autodetect.exe” are listed as included.
Press “ok” to approve.
Press again File->Capture Events to start the log.

8. Connect the portable drive and start Ceedo; the Process Monitor will start filling lines with system information.
Reproduce the problem with Ceedo (so it will be documented in the Process Monitor)
Then Eject Ceedo.

9. On the Process Monitor press File->Save, press “ok” to save it with the default options.
Exit the Process Monitor utility.
Compress the log file into ZIP or RAR and sent it to our support team This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
